August cover ABOUT THE COVER
The Brooks Universal Mounting Box turbine flowmeter manufactured by Daniel and shown on the cover in cutaway view is designed for use in petroleum production, offsite refining, transportation, and terminal marketing applications. Capable of handling very large flows, the meter provides high-frequency pulse resolution with easily maintained field-mountable pickoffs without termination of conduit lines. The article beginning on page 16 explains the principles of turbine flowmeter operation. (Cover image courtesy of Fisher-Rosemount Petroleum.)
